The Problem of Workplace Drug Abuse

Of all drug users, 68.9% are employed and active in the workplace, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA). Although many aspects of society are harmed by illicit drug use and abuse, it is especially detrimental in the workplace. Not only can it lower the productivity and revenue of a business, but it can also place employees at risk. It is important for employers to conduct drug test for background screening and re-screening because workplace drug use and abuse can come with serious consequences for business owners.

Alcohol and drug abuse creates significant safety and health hazards and can result in decreased productivity and poor employee morale.

Address Verification

Residential Address Verification is done through a physical site visit or database check. Our field staff visits the current / permanent / previous or all the addresses of the candidates as requested by employer. During the visit house, street, GPS Coordinates and signature of the verifier is captured and shared with employer. This is available for select locations only. This is often done in conjunction with criminal check, as in majority of states police records are decentralized at local police station level.

Why?
This check allows employers to be sure of the correct address of the candidate and gather additional contact details about candidate in case of need.

Company Site visit

Company Check

To verify the existence of the company in the given address and to observe whether the company is genuinely operating or a fake set-up company that issues Services Certificates for price.

Observations to be made in site visit
BGV Agency’s representatives shall physically visit the company’s address and observe the below points with regard to the employer
To Confirm that there is a name board of the company in the given address
To Confirm that there is any security officers in the company, if yes the number of security officers seen at the time of visit.
Appearance of the company and the size with which it is operating in that address like small. Medium or big size.
To Collect the details of number of employees working in the address and should also record the number of employees seen at the time of visit.
To collect all the relevant details with the neighbor hoods and the local authorities with regard to the company’s nature of business activity, period of stay etc.

Education Verification

Education check involves verifying the authenticity of candidate’s educational & professional qualifications from the respective colleges/institutes/universities. Employers today are looking for the best resource in the market, thus it is imperative for any employer to hire genuine candidates with valid education and authentic degrees. We cover all types of courses and certifications offered within INDIA and abroad.

Reference Verification

A reference check gives you more visibility on the candidate’s profile. Our well researched questions are designed to elicit honest response. Telephonic / Email verification is obtained about the candidate’s personal integrity, educational and professional backgrounds from professional references provided by the candidate. For fresher’s, verification is taken from respective education institutes or other citizens of repute.

Database World Check

Database check is the process of checking global and country-specific databases to verify if a candidate has been involved in any activities that are related to frauds or crimes. Database check could reveal if the applicant had any connections to organized criminal outfits or if s/he holds a risk related to legal, reputation or compliance aspects. Database check reveals and alerts employers about any critical misconduct by the applicant in the past.

Cibil Credit Check

A cibil check is a credit score which is provided by a govt. recognized credit bureau used by employers to ascertain the financial stability of the candidate. Credit History screening reports are recommended for employees who may impact company finances. This necessarily includes all employees in accounting functions, but may also include other employees such as those that are provided with a corporate credit or purchasing card. The candidates details will be available subject to creation of credit history wherein a score will be provided. In case the candidate’s name not available in the database, the charges shall be applicable

This check not only gives a credit score but also provides/verifies a lot of details like identity and address details. This check helps to confirm payment history, liabilities, bankruptcy on the candidate.

Employee Verification

Factual and performance related data of previous employments is critical for any employer before hiring a resource. Information contained in resume/at the time of interview is used to hire a candidate. Once an offer is placed, and a background screening request is placed a candidate has to submit a verification form along with necessary documentation. These information are then validated by the previous employer. Verifications are mostly obtained either from Human Resource Department or immediate supervisor.

Why?
Employment verifications is the most widely asked check by employers for experienced candidates. Some common discrepancy areas are:

Court Check

This check involves search for records of any charges against the applicant/candidate in the court of Jurisdiction (Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, Tribunal and others) to check for any potential background / other cases against the candidate. We utilize Govt. sourced websites to obtain data. The check covers PAN India locations and records are found on the basis of combination of two and more data points. The report may include: Case number, plaintiff(s), defendant(s), type of case, disposition, disposition date, and judgment along with annexure.
